Dodge Coronet & Super Bee: 1965–1970 | The Heart of the Scat Pack Club
Introduced in 1965 to dominate the mid-sized field, the Dodge Coronet quickly became the foundation for some of the most feared muscle cars on the street. While offered in many forms, this gallery celebrates the iconic two-door hardtops and convertibles—starting with the 1966 Coronet R/T and its standard 383 Magnum V8.
In 1968, the legend grew with the arrival of the Super Bee, a budget-friendly bruiser featuring the unmistakable "bumblebee" stripes. Along with the Charger and Dart, these cars formed the elite Scat Pack Club. To wear those twin stripes and special decals, a car had to be capable of a 14-second quarter-mile—making it a very exclusive, and very fast, club of high-performance V8s.
