 The Studebaker Story: A Vintage Advertising Archive (1947–1966)

Welcome to our curated gallery of original Studebaker print advertising, spanning the revolutionary postwar era through the final models of 1966. From the "coming or going" 1947 debut to the iconic bullet-nose Champions, these high-resolution scans capture the daring spirit of South Bend’s finest.

A Legacy of Design & Speed

  • The Loewy Era: Explore the "Ahead of the Pack" styling of the 1953 Starliner and the legendary Golden Hawk and GT Hawk series.

  • The Avanti Phenomenon: Original ads for the fiberglass 1963/64 Avanti, powered by the "Jet-Thrust" 289 V8. In supercharged R2 and R3 guise, the Avanti smashed 29 speed records at Bonneville, reaching speeds up to 196 mph.

  • The Packard Partnership: Documenting the 1954 merger that created the Studebaker-Packard Corporation and the final "Packard-baker" years.

  • The Final Act: High-resolution marketing for the Lark and the last models produced at the Hamilton, Ontario plant in 1966.
