Introduced for 1965, the Coronet was Dodge’s entry in the hotly contested mid-sized field. Offered in a range of body styles, most fondly remembered, and we’ve focused on here, are the two door hardtop and convertibles. Dodge wisely chose to use their sharply styled two-doors for a range of muscle cars starting with 1966’s R/T that came standard with a 383 Magnum V8. In 1968 Dodge added the Super Bee budget muscle car to the Coronet line-up, along with the R/T. The Super Bee had neat bumble-bee stripes across the rear fenders and boot, and from 1968 Dodge added bumble-bee stripes to both their hot Charger and Dart muscle cars to form The Scat Pack Club.
Scat Pack cars got twin bumblebee stripes and special decals, as well as high performance V8 options. Scat Pack cars had to be capable of running the 1/4 Mile in 14 seconds - a very exclusive, and vey fast club!
