The Toyota name dates back to 1933, though it wasn’t until the 1960s that it began to expand after the creation of a dedicated R&D facility. From 1963 Toyota began manufacturing cars in Melbourne, Australia which signaled its intent to become a global entity. The rest, as they say, is history.
